North Main Music
Private Music Lesson Policies:

As an introduction, you are encouraged to take an introductory half-hour lesson ($22) where we can discuss the styles you are interested in studying, and your musical background as well as ability. For this lesson, we can also setup a permanent meeting time and lesson length.

Once a time is set up, payment will be required for the remaining lessons in the month. The last week of the month, you will be given a bill for the followings month’s lessons that will be due on the first of the month. Please make all payments to North Main Music

Practice daily!  A little practice everyday is much better than cramming at the end! Even with a busy schedule, please stay current with your lessons as you will get a lot more out of them!

Please get a binder for your lessons! You can keep your handouts in one place. These will be for your future reference.

If you need to miss a lesson, please contact us to let us know that you will not be able to make it.  We do not offer mandatory make up lessons, but if there is an opening the same week, we will put you in that spot. Lessons that are missed are not credited or refunded. The following exceptions apply:

1) Major holidays (If you can't make it on a holiday, please let us know)
2) Snowstorms (In the event of a snowstorm, you will be credited you for the lesson the following month if a makeup is not arranged)
3) Any lesson that a teacher misses.

Please do not be late for your lesson. The lesson is your time and you want to take advantage of it.

For beginning students (and anyone that hasn’t done this): We highly recommend that you buy and use a guitar tuner. This is fundamental for playing with other musicians, recordings, and for developing your ear. There are many types, but the Korg GA30 is recommended. You can purchase it for $20.

Metronome: This is a great tool to develop your internal rhythm as well as an invaluable tool to use if you read music. We stock the Sabine Zipbeat for $25.

Parking Passes: We do offer parking passes that will enable you to park in the lot directly behind the building. They are available for a $15 refundable deposit.  Make sure that the pass is displayed on your front windshield visor or review mirror while your car is in the lot. Please adhere to this or you may be towed. Unfortunately, we can’t be responsible if a car is towed.

Snow Policy:
Please call or email to see if we are open on a storm day.
